Klopp: Salah Unavailable for Transfer, Asserts Liverpool Manager

On the subject of Mohamed Salah's availability, manager Juergen Klopp asserted on Friday that the prized asset is non-negotiable for sale. Additionally, Liverpool has yet to entertain any proposals from the Saudi Arabian club Al-Ittihad, according to Klopp's statement.

On a recent Thursday, British media outlets buzzed with reports indicating that Al-Ittihad was orchestrating a revitalized endeavor to secure the signature of the talented Egyptian football sensation.

However, Jürgen Klopp, the revered manager of Liverpool, emphatically quashed any notions of an agreement materializing.

In an illustrious tenure at Liverpool that commenced in 2017, Salah's meteoric rise has been punctuated by an awe-inspiring tally of 187 goals netted across 307 appearances.

His dynamic presence on the field not only facilitated Liverpool's triumph in the Premier League but also played an instrumental role in their glorious Champions League victory.

"It's always difficult to talk about media stories because there's nothing to talk about from our point of view," Klopp told reporters ahead of Liverpool's game with Saudi-owned Newcastle United at St James' Park on Sunday.

"We don't have an offer, Mo Salah is a Liverpool player. Obviously for all the things we do, essential, was, will be. There's nothing there, if there would be something the answer would be no."

The manager also emphasized that the 31-year-old Salah, who inked a three-year contract extension the previous year, remains unequivocally devoted to Liverpool.

In their victorious 3-1 match against Bournemouth on Saturday, Liverpool found themselves a player short due to Alexis Mac Allister's expulsion.

However, a sense of immense relief swept through the team as the red card was subsequently overturned following an appeal, as noted by the manager.

"I wasn't sure after the game so when I saw the pictures back and I was really sure that it's not a red card," Klopp said, "but that doesn't mean immediately that our appeal will be successful."

Mac Allister has been reinstated and will be eligible for the upcoming match against Newcastle, where Klopp is set to cross paths with Eddie Howe.

Having assumed the helm at Newcastle in 2021, Howe steered the club to an impressive fourth-place finish in the prior season, securing a coveted spot in the Champions League. Klopp lauded his coaching prowess, describing him as an exceptional mentor.

Klopp confirmed the fitness of right-back Trent Alexander-Arnold, assuring that he's ready to play after his brief departure from the field due to a knock during the Bournemouth encounter.

Meanwhile, midfielders Thiago Alcantara and Curtis Jones are expected to be match-fit starting Monday.

Unfortunately, center-back Ibrahima Konate's availability remains uncertain due to an ongoing struggle with a muscle injury, casting doubts on his participation in the upcoming game against Newcastle.

"Playing 40 minutes with 10 men didn't help. That's the situation," Klopp said.

After completing two fixtures in the Premier League, Liverpool has amassed a total of four points, while Newcastle closely trails with a single point.
