Spectacular Debut Hat-Trick by Firmino Ignites Al-Ahli's Triumph in Saudi Pro League Season Opener

In a spectacular debut, Brazilian sensation Roberto Firmino illuminated the pitch with an extraordinary hat-trick, propelling Al-Ahli to a remarkable 3-1 victory over Al-Hazm in the inaugural match of the Saudi Pro League season.

Stepping onto the field as a new member of Al-Ahli, Firmino wasted no time showcasing his prowess. Within the opening 10 minutes, he struck the net twice, sending ripples of awe through the stadium.

His first goal arrived as a commanding header just six minutes into the game, setting the tone for a memorable evening. Shortly after, he seized the opportunity provided by a pinpoint cross from the recently joined Riyad Mahrez, formerly of Manchester City, securing his brace with a clinical close-range finish.

While Al-Hazm struggled to gain a foothold in the first half, they managed to make their presence felt after the break.

A well-timed move by Vina, taking advantage of a lapse in the defense triggered by goalkeeper Edouard Mendy, who had been acquired from Chelsea, resulted in a goal that put them back in the race.

However, Firmino was determined to leave an indelible mark on his debut. With the game's outcome hanging in the balance, he showcased his relentless drive by completing his hat-trick in the 72nd minute, restoring Al-Ahli's two-goal lead and sealing the triumph in an emphatic manner.

This match marked the commencement of the Saudi Pro League season, with Al-Ahli and Al-Hazm among the four teams that earned promotion to the esteemed Saudi top-flight competition.

The league expanded this season, welcoming 18 teams to the thrilling battle for supremacy.

As the season unfolds, fans can anticipate more electrifying clashes. Reigning champions Al-Ittihad, boasting marquee signings like Ballon d'Or awardee Karim Benzema from Real Madrid and midfield dynamo N'Golo Kante from Chelsea, are set to grace the field on Sunday against Al-Raed.

On Monday, the spotlight shifts to a match between Cristiano Ronaldo's Al-Nassr, last season's runners-up, and Al-Ettifaq.

The game holds the tantalizing prospect of a face-off between former Liverpool teammates Sadio Mane, newly inducted into Al-Nassr's ranks, and Jordan Henderson, now a part of Al-Ettifaq's lineup.
